KYC & Regulatory Compliance

Certain financial services facilitated by VYGenius Investments may require completion of Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation and verification procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements issued by SEBI, AMFI, RBI and other authorities.
What is KYC?
Know Your Customer is a standardised verification process required by Indian regulators before an investor can transact in most regulated financial products. KYC helps prevent fraud, money laundering and misuse of financial services.
Why KYC Is Required
KYC compliance is mandatory under:
- The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002
- SEBI regulations governing intermediaries
- AMFI guidelines for Mutual Fund Distributors
- Applicable RBI regulations for banking channels
Documentation You May Be Requested to Provide
Depending on the service being facilitated, clients may be requested to provide:
- Proof of Identity (PAN card is mandatory for most investment products)
- Proof of Address (Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, recent utility bill or bank statement)
- Recent photograph
- Bank details for investment and redemption transactions
- For NRIs: Passport copy, overseas address proof, NRE/NRO bank details, FATCA declaration
KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs)
Once KYC is completed with any SEBI-registered KRA — such as CVL, NDML, CAMS, Karvy or NSDL — the same KYC status is accepted across mutual funds and most SEBI-regulated products. You do not need to complete KYC separately for each fund house.
Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
As a distributor of mutual funds and other financial products, VYGenius Investments supports the AML framework by:
- Ensuring investors complete required KYC documentation
- Directing all investment transactions through regulated banking channels
- Reporting suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities where required by law
- Maintaining records in accordance with applicable regulatory retention requirements
Data Handling
Personal information and KYC documents shared with us for facilitating investments are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and are shared only with the relevant regulated intermediary (fund house, distributor platform, RTA, KRA) for the specific purpose of processing your investment or verifying your identity.
Where to Complete KYC
You may complete KYC:
- Online through eKYC platforms of any SEBI-registered KRA
- Through our associated platforms — Prudent Corporate Advisory Services, Anand Rathi Wealth, or Nirmit Edusol
- Directly with an AMC or its Registrar
